Shawnee & Semisi | Mike & Amy Photographers | Melbourne
I’ve been looking forward to sharing some more images from Shawnee & Semisi’s wedding for a couple of weeks now and can finally say… here they are! To start off I’d like to mention how much I enjoyed photographing your day, there was always something happening and the guests, bridal party and of course Shawnee & Semisi always looked they were having an amazing time.
As you can see below both the groom prep and bridal prep photos were lots of fun, the houses where they got ready had plenty of natural light and white walls so the photography there was nice and easy!
The ceremony location was the beautiful Wilson Botanic Park in Berwick and it was stunning. We had beautiful weather, a pleasant temperature and everything was going fine… until the ceremony finished. Just as it finished it started to rain and we quickly gathered everyone for a group photo before we got drenched. Thankfully though, the weather decided to clear and we were able to do family photos without having to go anywhere!
For the rest of the afternoon we got the best of both worlds in terms of lighting, Sunlight with the rich colours that come along with it and clouds with the soft skin tones that come with that too… I couldn’t be happier.
The reception was held at the Vogue Ballroom in Burwood East, there was plenty of room for all the guests and the venue was beautifully decorated. So much happened during the reception, lots of dancing, many of it traditional Samoan and Maori dances. The two cultures blended perfectly together and there was so much stuff to photograph! Not to mention how happy everyone looked, it was a true celebration.
Here’s a few wedding images for now!

Steph & Troy | Melbourne | Mike & Amy
A few weeks back on a very windy Saturday I had the pleasure of capturing the wedding of Steph & Troy. I started the day with Troy and the groomsman. Like most grooms the experience of having photographs taken wasn’t the boys favourite part of the day but they did well. Im sure they were just itching for me to head to the girls so it would be over. That time soon come and I did make my way over to the girls who were getting ready at Steph’s parent home.
The girls were a delight and were ready to get dressed when I arrived which meant things flowed very well. We captured some gorgeous images of the girls before it was time to head to the ceremony.
The ceremony was to be held outside at Forest Edge Restaurant in Gembrook however because of the excessively strong wind the ceremony was moved inside which was just as gorgeous. Forest Edge has such a great bad weather option.
After the ceremony family photos were taken and then we headed outside to brave the wind and capture some gorgeous images of our couple and their bridal party.
Im excited to share these images with you all.

Pip & Eric’s Wedding | Mike & Amy Photographers | Gold Coast
Ahh, sunny Gold Coast. Amy and I travelled there recently to photograph and attend the wedding of some very dear friends of ours Pip & Eric. It was so nice to actually be guests as well!
Both Pip & Eric got ready at the Hilton in Surfers Paradise, we were pretty thrilled to be staying there ourselves too! After a few preparation photos we headed to the ceremony at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses nearby for the ceremony and family photos. Afterwards it was back to the Hilton for some photos and reception!
Pip’s mum and dad, Anne & Darryl were so happy on the day, we loved capturing all of Darryl’s moments of emotion… It’s what we love about our job! It was such a beautiful day and thanks so much for having us there!

Lauren and Carl had a beautiful wedding in our old home of Coffs Harbour recently. As part of our time we spent up that way in the last month we had the privilege of being their photographers.
The wedding was held at the Aanuka Beach Resort and both Lauren & Carl chose to get ready there. As usual we photographed the guys and girls as they prepared for the day, also as usual it seems like you have all the time in the world but it is amazing how quickly it goes by and it’s time for the bride to walk down the aisle!
From the super cheeky page boys to our wonderful bridal party it was plenty of fun doing the prep shots. Sam Dawson from Married By Sam did a wonderful job of the ceremony as usual and family and friends sure looked like they enjoyed it. We were treated to some pleasant overcast weather and it made for some nice even light for us to use. I love photographing people as they hug and congratulate the bride and groom, there is always so much emotion going on and it’s one of those times in a day I really enjoy.
For the photo shoot we travelled around the resort for some beautiful couples photos and headed to the nearby beach for our last ones. The reception venue was done up in spectacular fashion by Special Occasions and looked beautiful.
Here are a few little photos of their day for now!

Brooke & Al’s Wedding | Mike & Amy Photographers | Melbourne
Recently the gorgeous Brooke & Al were married at Inglewood Estate in the picturesque Yarra Valley. I knew from the moment I met Brooke and Al that there wedding was going to be a delight to photograph and that it was.
I started the day with Al and his boys who were super organised. Al is also a photographer so couldn’t resist getting a photo with his newest pride! Hopefully the few wedding frames we took on your new camera turned out awesome 🙂
Brooke prepared for the ceremony at her parents home. I loved the dusty pink colour of Brooke’s bridesmaid dressers…. so much so I accidentally wore the same colour to the wedding. Couldn’t have done that better if I had tried LOL.
Brooke’s Jack Brussel certainly starred in the preparation photos- she is such a cutie. I think she definitely wanted to come in her wedding dress!
It was soon time to leave for the ceremony which was held at the chapel at Inglewood Estate. The staff were amazing at the estate ensuring all the guests were seated and in the chapel before the gorgeous Brooke stepped out of the care.
Family and Friends photos followed the ceremony. A huge thank you to all the family and guest for their co-operation. It’s so satisfying to be able to capture an image of each family member with our couples and their friends.
The photos were taken at the Estate before heading into the amazing reception that was prepared the celebrate Brooke and Al’s special day.
Here is a little sneak at the photos. I can’t wait to post your USB with your album proof.
