Melanie and Sean’s Grafton Wedding

May 5, 2012

Rain, rain, rain, I think the last 6 or so weddings it’s rained on us! But, rain certainly isn’t the end of the world, so it’s not something to be scared of, just something you have to be prepared for, thats all!

Melanie and Sean’s day started out looking like it was going to be a really wet one! I travelled up to Grafton and did some photos of Sean and the Boys at their house before heading over to the girls who were at her parents. Melanie’s mum and dad looked so proud as she got ready.

After all the preperation shots it was time for the ceremony which was held at the St Mary’s Church in Grafton. Some really cool architecture makes for awesome photos, not to mention the wedding being inside kept everyone nice and dry!! Mel and Sean walked back down the aisle at the conclusion of the ceremony and went outside only to find that the rain had stopped, good news for family photos!

We did a few shots around the church and some of the adjacent buildings, Grafton has some really nice buildings, lots of older style balcony’s and brickwork. We took the opportunity of the rain clearing to do plenty of shots there before heading to Fig Tree Ave for some more group shots and pics with the cars. Unfortunately thats when the rain came back and we retreated to an indoor location at Mel and Seans fav bar. Home to some cool old rooms and a big old staircase!

Mel and Sean had their reception at the Grafton District Golf Club, the meals were delicious and the reception went great. I Had a great time!

Here are just a few photos as a sample of the day, Hope your enjoying your honeymoon up in Cairns! Not too much fishing I hope!

Kristen and Rowan’s Engagement session

May 4, 2012

Recently Mike and I caught up with Kristen and Rowan. They travelled across from Tamworth for their engagement session. I was so nice to finally met you both after just communicating via email. The weather as usual in Coffs Harbour had been wet all day but it cleared up for their engagement session which I was rather happy about.

We are really looking forward to your wedding guys. October is going to come around very fast. It was great fun to capture a few images of your engagement to help you remember this time forever.

Here are just a few images from the shoot…. can’t wait to share more on facebook.

Melissa and Brett

April 23, 2012

Just over a week ago now was the beautiful wedding of Melissa and Brett (no, not the same Mel and Brett that we photographed two weeks before, this is a different Mel and Brett in case you’re wondering!)

The bridal prepeartion, groom getting ready, ceremony, photos and reception was all held at the scenic Opal Cove Resort in Coffs Harbour.

The three guys were first up for photos, and that was a breeze, then it was to the girls for the bridal prep photos. Mel was so organised, everything was ready, the dress hanging up, and all the shoes, flowers, etc neatly placed and ready to be photographed. As usual the time flew by and before we knew it, it was time for the ceremony.

The ceremony was held at 4pm just next to the lagoon at Opal Cove, and this made a beautiful backdrop to the wedding. All the more impressinve was the big storm clouds looming over the ocean. Diane Egan was the celebrant for Mel and Brett and she did a lovely job. Once the ceremony was over, our happy couple were officially husband and wife and some of the guests had given them congratulations and hugs it was time for the photoshoot.

With the rain just starting to sprinkle we started our photos around the Lagoon and some of the beautiful surrounds at the resort. Then it was to the beach for some shots of just Mel and Brett together, it wasn’t long before the rain started bucketing down and we were off back into the cars and over to the reception! We were fortunate the rain held off as long as it did and we cut it pretty fine, but the lighting was just brilliant to work with so that more than made up for it!

After drying off a little and doing some family photos it was time for the bridal party to enter at the reception. The speeches were very touching and in some cases hilarious (as with the groomsmen speeches) and these made for a very nice evening.

Thanks for sharing your day with us, hope you enjoyed your honeymoon in Fiji! Looking forward to sharing some more photos with you.

Hayley and Tim

April 16, 2012

Last week I travelled down to Kempsey for the gorgeous wedding of Hayley and Tim. You might remember this very cute couple from their engagement session which was only a few weeks prior to the wedding. Their engagement session was so much fun and their wedding was no different! I had such a great time!! It was a perfect day 🙂

The weather was so amazing for Hayley and Tim, we couldn’t have asked for a better day. It wasn’t too hot and it wasn’t too cold! As usual we first met with the groom and his groomsman who were getting ready at Tim’s parent’s place. The boys were very organised! After finishing with the boys Genny and I headed over to Hayley and her girls who were getting ready in a stunning bed and breakfast which is located next to Brinderbella. Hayley’s hair and Makeup was done by Kelli-T. I adored the look that Kellie gave her. It was so vintage and suited Hayley very well. Your bridesmaids looked very beautiful too…. I will share some of their photos on facebook shortly!! Kellie you never dissappoint!

Hayley and Tim were married at the Catholic Church in Kempsey. After a short ceremony as it was Easter Saturday, we than did some family photos and dismissed the guest so we could capture a few images around the church before heading to our locations. While we were on the photo shoot the guest enjoyed nibblies at Brinderbella! Hayley and Tim allowed us heaps of time so we could go to a few locations which always makes the photo shoot go so fast but keeps it interesting. Hayley and Tim were so easy to photograph that it really did go so fast!!

We finished the shoot at the Brinderbella Function Centre in Kempsey…. which also happened to be where Hayley and Tim were celebrating their day with their reception. The garden’s at Brinderbella are very beautiful! And suited the vintage theme very well!

We captured a few images of the decorations etc. that Hayley and Tim had spent lots of time on. The day was so perfect, I had such a great time!

Hope you guys are having a great time in Italy!! Im a little jealous! I think we are nearly ready for another holiday! LOL

Here are just a few images from the day! I will post some more on our facebook page shortly!

Melissa and Brett Married

April 8, 2012

Last weekend Melissa and Brett were married at the gorgeous Red Rock Beach! It was about a year ago that I photographed Mel’s Brother and sister -in-law’s wedding. It was so great to see you guys Kellie and Nathan! It was also lovely to catch up with Nathan and Mel’s family 🙂

Mike started the day with the boys at Sandy Beach before heading up to the girls at Red Rock. I met Mike at Red Rock to photograph the girls and the ceremony together! When we arrived the girls were so relaxed and calm and I must say very organised!! Melissa looked gorgeous as did her 4 bridesmaids. I loved the colour of the dresses. I also loved that Melissa choose sunflowers as her bouquet – something a little different.

It was soon time for Mel and her girls to head down to the beach where Brett and Mel would be married. They travelled to the wedding in a very cute Combi Van! It fitted the beach theme of their wedding so well. Mel and Brett’s Mum’s walked down the aisle with their beloved pups first followed by the gorgeous brides maids and of course our bride.

It was the most stunning day on the beach… It wasn’t too hot and was only slightly windy. It was such a perfect day for a beach wedding! After the ceremony we  did the formalities of family photos before starting our shoot! Melissa and Brett were so easy to photograph… it must have been the practice from their engagement session a couple of weeks before 🙂 While Melissa and Brett were on their photo shoot the guest headed back to Mel’s parents place for afternoon tea…. A great way to entertain guest while the photos happen!

After photos of the beach we than headed down to Sapphire. Mel and Brett had their wedding reception at Beach Stone Cafe! We captured a few images there. It also was the location of their engagement session!

After all the guest had arrived for the reception Mel and Brett arrived with their bridal party to celebrate their special day!

We had a really lovely time at the wedding guys! We hope that you have a great time in Hawaii!! Mike and I would go back to Hawaii in a heart beat!! So Jealous of you guys!! LOL

Here are just a few images from the day. I will share some more on facebook soon! 🙂
