Tashjana and Mathew

March 16, 2012

Last week just before Tash and Mat’s wedding I caught up with them in town to make sure they were all prepared for their big day. It was a busy day for them, meeting with Bonville Golf resort in the morning and then their engagement session and a chat about Saturday. It’s always busy the few days before the wedding.

It was so lovely to be able to catch up with Tash and Mat as it had been a few months since we last chatted in person. They were both really excited for the wedding which made me get excited for them. They were so relaxed and comfortable in front of the camera even though Tash wasn’t feeling great. We had a really great little shoot and captured some gorgeous moments between them. Tash and Mat are just too cute!! I love meeting with a couple for an engagement shoot before the wedding. It’s one of my favorite things to be able to relax with a couple and really capture who they truly are as a couple. Tash and Mat really do love each other, it gives you goosebumps. LOL I ve been looking forward to sharing some of the images from their engagement session but really can’t wait to blog about their wedding!!

Here are just a few images from our engagement session. I hope your having a great time on your honeymoon… Keep posted for the wedding images soon 🙂

Brooke and Grant

March 13, 2012

On Saturday the 3rd March, I had the priviledge of photographing the wedding of Brooke and Grant.

I’d already known Grant a little for quite some time so was really excited to be part of their big day. We travelled up to Yamba early Saturday before arriving at the location of where Grant was getting ready. Fletcher and Jordan the two groomsmen made for a really fun portrait session. A while back we photographed Fletcher’s brother Myles and the two boys were such a blast then. There were heaps of really funny shots of Grant and the boys getting ready (won’t mention the odd socks). The cufflinks that Grant wore had been worn by his father on his wedding day which was pretty cool!

After the boys I went over to the house where the girls were getting ready, Brooke, Lahnee and Thea were there and we were able to get straight into the photos. After doing some of the dress hanging up and all the details we did some portraits of Brooke and the girls along with her mum and dad. Before long it was time to head to the ceremony.

The ceremony was held at the Maclean Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses, Grant’s father Wayne had the priviledge of delivering the marriage talk before handing over for it to be officiated. This made for a nice and personal ceremony. After the signing of the papers and the kiss it was time for everyone to congratulate the happy couple and then family photos.

We headed over to a few locations for the photo shoot, there was a cool little dirt road surrounded by trees which made for some beautiful natural light, the a really nice old house which Brooke and Grant had organised for photos too.

After our two more formal locations, it was down to the beach in Yamba for some more relaxed photos of just Brooke and Grant. Time just flew by and before we knew it, it was time for the reception.

The reception was held at the Yamba Shores Tavern, a really nice venue with plenty of space and great facilities. We don’t normally put many reception shots on the blog but the speeches were so funny we just had to show some of the reactions to them!

Thanks for letting me be part of the day, I had a really really good time! Grant had prepared a surprise honeymoon for Brooke which he kept a secret, never did find out what you had organised but I’m sure you’ll let me know when you get back!!

Natasha and James married!

March 10, 2012

Last weekend while Mike was at Grant and Brooke’s wedding I was down in Macksville at Natasha and James’ wedding. I first met Tash about … oh maybe 4 years ago now when I started work at Harbour Drive Dental. About 12-18 months before we took photography up full time Tash come into work all excited about meeting this boy…. who happened to be James. They than got engaged on a trip over to Western Australia and then now the special day had finally arrived.

When I awoke on the Sunday morning it was pouring raining in Coffs Harbour and I was really hoping that it wasn’t raining in Macksville or up at Maclean for Mike’s gorgeous couple. But it was raining in Macksville as well, so much that the ceremony was moved inside.

I started the day with James and his groomsman Mick. They were great and I think James was rather excited to being marrying his gorgeous girl. After a few preparation photos with the boys I made my way to Tash’s parents house where it was all happening. When I arrived the girls were getting their makeup down, and having a drink. I captured all the details before doing a few preparation photos of Tash before it was time to head to the ceremony.

The ceremony was held at the Macksville Golf Club. The ceremony was to be held on the lawns outside the club house but the weather wasn’t kind to us and was held in the reception room. Even though it wasn’t what James and Tash had planned all ran smoothly!! It was a gorgeous little ceremony. A real pleasure to capture the love and emotion between such a cute couple.

After the ceremony we went outside to take a few family images…. but the rain soon started again. After the family images we than headed down to the lawns at the golf course to do our best to get some images admits the awful weather that faced us. I was so pleased that we were able to capture some really gorgeous images of such a cute couple despite the terrible weather. After only about 20min we had to retreat up to the club house were there was a tree that we were able to shelter under and capture a few more images.

So pleased and honoured to share the day with you guys… here are just a few of the images from your special day.

Rebecca and Mark

March 9, 2012

Recently Mike and I met up with Rebecca and Mark  for their engagement session. They travelled down from Queensland after having to postpone the shoot from Australia day due to the rain and flooding that week. It was looking like it was going to be a gorgeous afternoon but by 3pm the rain started to come over so we made the shoot earlier but it still rained on Rebecca and Mark and us too lol! We were able to capture some really cute images thou.

We had planned to start the shoot out a Aqualana Resort but it was just so windy that we thought it best to head into town where it was a little more sheltered! We couldn’t really escape the rain thou… But the end of the shoot we were all saturated!

Rebecca and Mark are getting married in April out at Tamworth. I really hope that the rain stays away for their special day. I think they have had their fair share of raining shoots!

Looking forward to your wedding guys, only a few weeks now!

Tiffany and Peter Wedding

March 6, 2012

Recently Tiffany and Peter were married in Bellingen. It was just a few days after we meet for the engagement session. I started with the boys at Peter’s parent house before heading over to Tiff and her girls who were just getting ready down the road. The atmosphere at Tiffany’s place was that of excitement. When I seen how gorgeous Tiffany’s dress was I was a little jealous LOL!! I loved the lace and the knee length dress it was just beautiful! The flowers were beautiful and all your bridesmaids were the sweetest girls ever!! They are all so cute. Tiffany’s mum was just gorgeous I just wanted to give her a big hug she was so adorable! Tiff’s parents names just happened to be Michael and Amy so I had no trouble remembering 🙂

We headed to the ceremony just a few minutes before 4pm. Peter’s Dad Stephen married Tiffany and Peter at the St Margret’s Anglican Church in Bellingen.

After the ceremony we than were able to take a few images of Tiffany and Peter with their family as well as a group photo with all the guest. Tiff and Peter left lots of time for their photo shoot we were able to stop for a short break before heading on location.

The photos were taken at the house that Tiffany got ready it. There was the most gorgeous yard with lots of beautiful areas for us to use. We had a great time on the shoot! Tiff and Peter really love each other so makes it a real pleasure to be able to capture the emotion and affection between them as a couple! Very cute!

The reception was hosted a little different from a traditional reception. We went to Mouza restaurant in Bellingen for their first dinner as a married couple. I hadn’t been to the restaurant before but will be certainly taking Mike back. The food was just amazing! They even made me a special Gluten free meal and it was awesome! I took photos of the Salmon and Mike was a little upset that he missed out- I think it made hims hungery when he was editing the photos!! LOL! I sat with Tiff’s sisters at the couples first meal… they were so much fun!! After the main meal we headed back up to the church hall were speaches, cake cut and the first dance all happened.

It really was a beautiful day! Thanks so much for sharing with us and have a great time in Italy when you head off soon. I will be in touch with you guys shortly
