Phoebe and Charles
Just over a week ago now I had the chance to catch up with Charles and Phoebe to photograph their wedding in Port Macquarie.
We tend to have a bit of wild weather this time of year, and on the way to Port Macquarie the rain was quite heavy, with umbrellas ready in the car I definately thought it was going to be a wet one!
We started the day with Charles getting ready along with his groomsmen Peter and Rhys, after taking a few shots with them I headed to the house where Phoebe and her girls were getting ready too.
Kelli Thomas did a beautiful job with the girls makeup and made it really easy for me to photograph them. Phoebe’s mum and dad were on hand so we were able to get some really nice shots of them together. After a little while it was time for the ceremony, Phoebe arrived in a cool old vintage car, whilst her bridesmaids travelled in a funky black combi van. The ceremony was held at the Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses in Port Macquarie. Phoebe and Charles looked so happy to see each other as she walked sown the aisle.
Despite it sprinkling with rain during the ceremony, when it came time for the shoot the sun had decided to come out, back home in Coffs Harbour they were having a big hail storm, but for Phoebe and Charles the weather was perfect!
The Photos were taken around the lighthouse and lighthouse beach, and once done Phoebe, Charles and their bridal party enjoyed a boat cruise up to the Whalebone Restaurant and function centre for their reception.
I had a great time being part of the day! Here are a few shots from the wedding, I hope you are having a great time in Fiji! ๐

Hayley and Luke
Last week Mike and I were a little worried about the weather for both Friday and Saturday’s weddings particularly as we needed to get to Byron Bay for Saturday’s wedding and there was isolated flooding around the border, but the weather Saturday was just amazing!! It was such a perfect day for Hayley and Luke. They were just delighted as us about the weather!!
We started our day at Byron at Byron were the boys were getting ready. We than headed over to Lord Byron apartments were the girls were getting ready. When we arrived at the girls Hayley was so relaxed and was excited to put her dress on. She looked amazing in her dress….. don’t you just love the bow around the middle. Hayley had this added to the dress. It was beautiful to be able to capture Jenny, Hayley’s Mum helping to prepare her girl to walk down the aisle. Jenny could only stay for a while, she had to sacrificeย being with Hayley for the last hour before the wedding so that she could set up the ceremony… But Jenny had a privilege that not many mum’s have- to marry their own daughter. It was so lovely and she did very well to hold back the tears…. I don’t think I could have held back the tears back if it were our daughter. Jenny is a celebrate so was very special for her to marry Hayley and Luke.
Hayley and Luke’s guests were taken to the wedding by the Byron Bay Magic Bus…. basically just a big hippy bus!!! It was rather colourful and made for some pretty cool images! After Hayley’s guests were dropped at the ceremony the bus returned the apartments to pick Hayley, Eddie and her beautiful girls to the ceremony!!
The ceremony was gorgeous…. Jenny did a beautiful job and was so special to be able to witness such a loving mother marry her little girl!! It’s something both Hayley and Jenny will cherish forever!! Jenny asked both Hayley and Luke to write a special letter to each other and place them in s special keep sake box that would only be opened at a time of need or on a special anniversary!! I think this was such a lovely idea! How beautiful it will be for Hayley and Luke to open that box and the letters in the future.
Hayley and Luke’s images were taken around the reserve and later in the afternoon we headed down to the beach for the last few before heading to the reception which was held at the RSL in Byron!!
It was a gorgeous day with a beautiful couple, thanks so much for sharing with us. We hope you have a great time in the states and we will catch up when you return home!!

Hayley and Luke were married on the greens at Broken Head Beach just out of Byron Bay!! It was a gorgeous setting under the shade of the dress!!
Hannah and Patrick’s Wedding
After having so long off work it was finally time for us to get sraight back into photographing weddings for this season! Last Friday we had our first one back, the wedding of Hannah and Patrick.
Hannah and Patrick both got ready at the Aanuka Beach Resort in Coffs Harbour, their ceremony, shoot, and reception was all held there too. I began with Patrick and his Groomsmen’s portraits and getting ready shots, before heading to the other side of the resort for Hannah and her girls.
Everything ran beautifully to time, as Hannah had everything so well organised. The ceremony was held on the lawn near the beach, after the week of pouring rain we had, we were all pretty happy we could have the ceremony outside and didn’t have to dodge the rain for the photo shoot! Ken Palmer acted as celebrant and officiated the ceremony. Hannahs mum looked so proud as she watched on!
After the ceremony we photographed the family portraits, then the bridal party and just Hannah and Patrick, Patrick didn’t mind getting photos taken too much after all!
At the reception the guests were able to spend some time in our photobooth studio for some really funny shots. The reception went so fast, before we knew it, it was time for the dinner, cake cut, dance and all the other formalities.
Hannah and Patrick are heading to the Maldives for their honeymoon, we shouldn’t be jealous after just getting back from overseas… but we are! ๐

Tahlia and Nathan engaged
It certainly doesn’t feel like we have been back from our trip nearly three weeks… it’s certainly good to be back home and catching up with some of this years gorgeous brides and grooms.
Last weekend Tahlia and Nathan headed down from Grafton to meet up so we could shoot an engagement session for you. The weather was so bad it poured all afternoon but managed to stop just for our shoot. As soon as Tahlia and Nathan arrived at the Jetty the rain stopped and as soon as we were finished the shoot it started to pour again. The glooming sky did however make for some gorgeous images.
Tahlia and Nathan are getting married in May at Aanuka Beach resort. That will come around so fast. I can’t believe we are at the end of January already…. Time just fliesย Tahlia and Nathan are really cute together and have contagious smiles. We had a great time on the shoot and can’t wait to share their special day ๐
Hope you had a good trip home. Here are just a few images from our shoot. Thanks for a great evening. I’ll pop your images in the mail this week ๐
