Mel and Bernie Engaged

October 3, 2011

Mike and I recently caught up with Mel and Bernie for an engagement session. It was lovely to finally meet them both after all the emails! 🙂 When I first meet Bernie it would’t come to me where I knew him from. Being a local girl and they too I know that we must have crossed paths somewhere. A little latter in the shoot I discovered that Bernie used to work at the Cinema and I at Hungry Jacks…. on a regular basis the Cinema staff used to come down for the Junior Whoppers with Cheese….. Hence why Bernie was familiar! LOL

We started their shoot down at the Jetty and then headed around to some other locations. The weather was so gorgeous ….. we were very lucky to have the most gorgeous sunset which gave for a perfect photo op.

Unfortantly Mike and I will be in Africa when Mel and Bernie get married but we look forward to seeing your gorgeous wedding pics and hope that you have the most beautiful wedding.

Here are just a few images from the shoot. Thanks for a great afternoon guys 🙂

Kara and Sam Wedding

October 3, 2011

Recently I caught up with Kara and Sam for their wedding… We started out with some photos at the house she was getting ready at with her, her beautiful bridesmaids and of course our flower girls April and Ella (They sure knew how to pose!). Kelli Thomas did a fantastic job with the girls makeup and that made the photography a breeze.

Kara’s dad is a truck driver, and as such Kara had a unique wedding car for the day, the truck! We headed over to a really cool property at Kungala, between Grafton and Coffs Harbour. The significance of this property being that Sam grew up there… we even got some shots at the end of Kara and Sam on the balcony of the little cabin that he grew up in.

We did a few shots of the boys before the ceremony began. The ceremony was held on a little platform overlooking the forest and river below with the guests gathered on the slopes around, a perfect setting for a wedding ceremony!

After family photos and a few formal shots we made use of the property for some more pics, we had some beautiful lighting coming through the trees which was really good for photos. The truck made for a really good prop too!

Thanks for a great day guys, here are some photos for you 🙂

Leah and Adam

September 24, 2011

Leah and Adam were married last weekend. It was such a gorgeous day. It was such a perfect springs day….. a little hot but a beautiful cool evening. The planning for their special day started some time ago now when Adam popped the big questions after a walk by the Clarence river. He had a special shirt made which he used to propose to Leah. All the planning for their special day certainly paid off….. it was a perfect day.

I started the day by heading out to the Ski Resort where Leah and Adam’s ceremony and reception was hosted I firstly to set up the photo booth and than took a few decoration shots. The Marquee wasn’t quiet set up when I arrived but I knew that it was going to be a stunning wedding and reception. Leah and Adam put so much work into the wedding and really made it personal to themselves. Many of the decorations Adam made himself at his school, and Leah too put much effort into the decorations and planning also.

After setting up the photo booth I meet with Leah and her gorgeous bridesmaids at their house in Grafton. There was so much to photograph at the house… Leah’s dress was stunning, her shoes gorgeous and Leah’s Uncle had done a fabulous job of the girls flowers- it was just perfect.

Leah and Adam were married by their local Priest. Leah arrived in a luxury boat with her girls and parents. The ceremony run smoothly with grandparents and a close friend sharing some readings the couple cherished. The ceremony was followed by a group photo and than family photos.

While Leah and Adam had their photos taken by the Clarence river their guest enjoyed nibbles by the river and than we headed to some near by paddocks for the remainder of the photos.

We arrived back at the reception just before dark. The fires had been lit outside and the music was playing… it was such a relaxing atmosphere to arrive back to. Leah and Adam enjoyed a Cocktail wedding reception and had some really book things for the guest to enjoy. They had a pop corn table where guest could help themselves to 4 different flavours of pop corn. They had an awesome cake or should I say chocolate coated cake bits on sticks.

Thanks for a fab day guys and I hope you are having a great time in Mexico.

Cyra and Ben

September 22, 2011

Over the weekend I had the opportunity to photograph the wedding of Cyra and Ben.

It was a beautiful day… almost hot actually! Which in itself is exciting, bring on the warmer weather!!

I started with a few shots of Ben and the boys getting ready to begin with, before they decided to have a game of pool and then I was off to Cyra’s house to do the bridal preperation shots. Cyra, Emma and Jalissa looked beautiful and who could forget our flower girl and of course the star of the show Seth (Cyras little brother, the page boy)!

After getting some shots of the girls, and Cyra with mum and dad I headed to the Grafton Kingdom Hall of Jehovah’s Witnesses for an 11 o’clock ceremony. Cyra’s little flower girl cried all the way down the aisle… yes it can be high pressure even for the little ones.

After the ceremony we hopped in the cars and headed to a property just outside of Grafton for some photos, we were able to escape the midday sun under a huge tree their which made for some fantastic shots. Our bridal party were so easy to work with, even though, like I said it was really hot, or maybe I’m just not used to having the warmer weather back…

We then drove along the highway to Coffs Harbour for the reception at the Deep Sea Fishing Club, near Gallows Beach. Cyra and Ben had the unique idea to ride Camels to the reception, a really cool idea!! We got out the cars, they got on the camels, and to everyones surprise they arrived on camelback. A nice touch!

We had an afternoon tea reception and cake cut, then Cyra and Ben along with myself headed out to get some last few shots along the beach and of the sunset.

Once done it was back to the reception for speeches and of course… dancing!

Had a great time Cyra and Ben, here’s a few pics for now, Enjoy your Honeymoon up Queensland!!
