Katie & Chris

March 22, 2013

Recently I had the pleasure of attending Katie and Chris’ wedding. Their wedding was so beautiful and really enjoyable to photograph as they are such an adorable couple and they really do adore each other. 🙂

So excited to share a little bit about this goreous couple on their wedding day.

Some of you may remember Katie and Chris from their engagement session from a few months back. They were so much fun on their engagement session that I know that their wedding would be amazing to photograph… I was certainly not disappointed.

Mike and I were a little stressed about the weather the morning of the wedding…. It was pouring at home and while we were getting ready for the bridal expo on the same weekend and Saturday’s wedding! By 1pm when I started with the boys the rain had cleared and it was looking promising for the outside ceremony Katie and Chris had planned for.

Before starting with the guys I dropped my things off at the reception room at Opal Cove and was so excited to see the theme colour was blue and orange… An amazing combination of colours. In the elevator on the way up to Chris’ room I met some of the groomsman. They were searching for Chris’ room as I was. The boys looked great and were a real blast to photograph. Thanks to Chris’ best man – Sudi,  All the boys had full Windsors. Thanks for such a great job.

Chris was really relaxed and seemed excited to marry his beautiful girl. After my time with the boys I headed down to Katie who was getting ready with her girls and parents in one of the new apartments at Opal Cove… I love these rooms… the light is so beautiful! Makes for awesome preparation photos J

When I arrived Katie’s girls were all ready and katey was in the process of having her hair finished. While this was happening I got some photos of her Amazing dress. Katey your dress was awesome… I loved the soft Chull  and the incrediable feature of the feathers at the top of the dress… It was stunning.

Our bridesmaids were a delight and your dress were gorgeous. The roses were an amazing orange that looks incredicable agains the royal blue dress. Katie you did amazing with the colours.

It was so time to head to the ceremony which was held at the lagoon at Opal Cove… A beautiful backdrop for such a romatic elegant ceremony. The ceremony was performed by Betsy White who is an adorable celebrant. So cute!

I loved John (katie’s Dad) and Katie’s expression as they walked down the aisle together. It’s such a beautiful time to be able to capture for a couple. Chris’ smile was so huge as his gorgeous bride walked down the aisle.

The sun came out about half way through the ceremony – it was so hot but was certainly beautiful!

After the ceremony we did some family photos before heading on our photo shoot. The photos were taken around the grounds of Opal Cove… Such a beautiful place. I loved the light that we had the afternoon of the wedding… So perfect for photos!!

After the photos we headed back into the reception. Katie and Chris’ reception was alot of fun. Katie had made her Cake… It was so awesome… Gluten Free Chocolate cake 🙂

The day was perfect for this really cute couple. Thanks so much for sharing with us 🙂

Emma & Jason

March 18, 2013

A couple of weeks ago now, ona a very very wet weekend whilst Amy photographed the lovely wedding of Lauren and Spencer, I had the opportunity to photograph the marriage of Emma and Jason.

We expected it to be a wet day, it had been pouring all week and the Saturday was no different. That being said Emma and Jason did not seem worried at all, and were willing to just have a great day and enjoy themselves on their most special day!

I did some getting ready shots with the boys to start with before heading to where Emma and her girls were. The girls all looked beautiful, Kelli T did a great job of the makeup and hair, the dress was stunning and everything was set for a beautiful, albeit a bit wet, day.

The ceremony was held at the Catholic church in Bellingen, and afterwards it was the time for family photos.

With the pouring rain we were a little limited for where we could go for the actual photo shoot, but the township of Bellingen itself has some really cool older style buildings with nice architecture and plenty of shelter, so thats where we spent most of our time. Emma and Jason were great sports, and the bridal party were fantastic.

Emma and Jason did brave the elements for a few shots along the road as we headed over to the beautiful Bonville Golf Resort for their reception. After the entrance and a mock cake cut it was time for me to head home and leave the happy couple to their guests. 🙂

Thanks for a great day guys, the rain certainly didn’t affect your day!

Heres a few pics for now…

Lauren & Spencer

March 11, 2013

At the beginning of the month I had the privilege of attending Lauren and Spencer’s wedding. They are a super cute couple. Many of you may remember Lauren and Spencer from their engagement session out at Bellingen some months back now.

Lauren and Spencer’s love story started way back in High School but it wasn’t until after high school that their feelings were rekindled and they relationship blossomed. They really do love each other and were such a pleasure to photograph.

I started the day with Spencer and his boys…They were so organised and were such a breeze to photograph. I loved Lauren’s Idea of the rings on the newspaper….. I think we will be using that often know!! It looks awesome and a great way to capture the date. After spending some time with the boys who were getting ready at Pacific Bay I headed over to Lauren and her gorgeous girls who were getting ready at Lauren’s Mum Robyn’s house. The house was so perfect for photos. The light was amazing. It was rather random that I knew one of Lauren’s bridesmaids from school, Ruby! At first I didn’t recognised her… She looks more amazing now! (not that you weren’t amazing at school LOL) This is a little embarrassing but Ruby and I were on the same debating team at school! LOL

The time with the girls always goes so fast as there is so much to photograph….. All the excitement while they prepare for the ceremony. It was soon time to head over to the ceremony which was being held at Pacific Bay Resort… It was originally planned on the Betting Tee at the resort but the weather was so wet and gross that the ceremony was moved inside. Peter and Margret from Special Occasions did the most amazing job of decorating both the ceremony and the reception Hall. Peter is Lauren’s Dad which was also funny that I was so silly and didn’t realise this until Spencer told me during his preparation photos. I’m such a dummy sometimes LOL!

Lauren arrived to the ceremony in a car from the 1920’s It was such an awesome car… arranged by Lauren’s Dad Peter! As Lauren arrived at the ceremony it was pouring…. All the umbrella’s to kept our gorgeous bride dry as kinda amusing now in hind site. For some brides the thought of the weather being as bad as it was for Lauren and Spencer is horrifying but both Lauren and Spencer took it well and still had a really awesome day and got some amazing images.

The ceremony as we mentioned was held inside but Peter and Margret decorated the ceremony Hall so amazingly that it really made for a beautiful ceremony despite the weather outside. Betsy White performed the ceremony and as usual she did a beautiful Job.

After the ceremony we did a group photo inside and then family photos. A big thankyou to the family as it was a challenge with how loud the rain was to organise everyone… But you were all great such a big help.

It was quickly time to brave the weather outside… so with umbrella’s in hand and a brave face we headed out for photos. Thankfully we did get s short break in the rain but for the most it was bucketing down. A huge thankyou to Lauren and Spencer for braving the weather… and the bridal party too. It made my job somewhat easier on such a challenging day!

Thanks so much for a great day guys. I hope you had an awesome time at the reception…. I can’t wait to give your images and album back!

Megan & Joey

March 11, 2013

Finally after a huge weekend we have had a chance to catch up and share with you all one of last weekends weddings. Admist the terrible weather that plagued the east last weekend there was a few of our gorgeous couples who exchanged their vows. Megan and Joey were one of those couples who were married on the Friday.

Megan and Joey prepared for the ceremony in the new apartments at the Opal Cove Resort. The new apartments there are perfect for groom and bridal preparation. The lighting is beautiful and there is lots of room to enjoy the morning.

We started the morning with Joey and his boys…. The boys im sure were very excited to have photos taken. LOL!! It was defiantly worth the patience boys…. You looked great and we captured some awesome moments of your preparation time.

My favorite part of the wedding day to photograph is the bridal preparation… particularly when we have a stunning bride like Megan and amazing light. We had both for Megan and Joey’s wedding so I was super excited to be able to spend some time with the girls prior to the ceremony. I always love it when the brides hair and makeup is all finished or just about finished when I arrive. It means it’s set and settled and we can spend all the time capturing the beauty of our bride. Megan was such a perfect bride to photograph. She was ready and her girls were all so hopeful in helping capture Megan’s special time before the ceremony. Your dress was amazing Megan and your flowers stunning. I loved the bridesmaids dresses also. All of your hard work certainly paid off. Your looked amazing and so did your gorgeous girls.

A real highlight of photographing Megan and Joey’s day was their page-boy Jarrod… He had real charter. At the reception which was held at Opal Cove Jarrod stole the show… particularly when he crash tackled Joey during the garder removal. It was very funny. He was a real charmer dancing with ruby his flower girl.

Megan and Joey had a beautiful day and thankfully for them the rain wasn’t consistant and we got some awesome photos. The light was amazing under the trees at the resort.

Thanks so much for an awesome day. I hope you had a great night partying and enjoyed the honeymoon.

Chat wait to share some more images and post them out to you soon.

Megan & Joey’s Engagement session

March 5, 2013

Early last week I caught up with Megan and Joey for their engagement session. Their wedding was held on Friday of last week. Megan and Joey live out at Tamworth but travelled across to the gorgeous Coffs Harbour for their wedding.

We met at the Jetty for the session, the rain held off beautifully for us. Joey and Megan were a lot of fun to photograph. I always get very excited to photograph couples a few days before the wedding as hearing all the plans come together is really exciting! A big concern with all this terrible weather was getting down the mountain and all the guest being able ot arrive for the wedding. I was a little anxious all week for Megan and Joey’s wedding…. It did rain on their special day but certainly didn’t stop them from having photos.

Hope you enjoyed your engagement session guys… Im looking forward to sharing your wedding shortly.
