Cambodia- Siem Reap and Battambang!!
We are missing everyone back home.. but at the same time are having a great time!! It’s been a full on week. Since our last entry we left Siem Reap and headed to Battambang to stay with our friends in their home!! A big thanks to Jo and Jim for letting us stay π
Battambang is more of a farming place with much fewer tourist visiting. We borrowed Jo’s moto for the 3 days we were there to get around town!! It was great fun.
Today we headed down to Phnom Penh by bus… in true cambodian style it was a long trip but must say they are always so fun! Tomorrow we head to Vietnam throu
- This beggar was at one of the bus stops on the way to Phnom Penh today. She asked us for money because she was hungry … she was not impressed when Michael offered her fruit instead of money!!
- Fresh Cat fish from the markets!
- The old bamboo train is probably the only real tourist attraction in Battambang! So yes we had to go on it!! It actually went pretty fast!
Cambodia- Our first two days
We arrived in Cambodia for the start of our 4 week break on Tuesday. We arrived fairly early in the morning so we got settled and than headed out the the Flooded Forest of Kompong Phhluk. Last year you may remember the floating village of Chong Kneas that we visited… the village of Kompong Phhluk was so much more memorable. Β It is harded to reach than the floating village. It took some 40mins on a bumping road in a Tuk Tuk just to reach the boat ramp. We than rode a boat into the village on Stilts. Most of the houses in the Village are built on Stilts of about 6m or 7m high, almost bamboo skyscrapers. It was quiet an amazing sight. We got some very memorable photos from this incredible community. As we floated up the river in our boat children laughed, smiled and waved at us… other little boys throw things into the motor of the boat… it was very funny!! The village supports themselves by fishing and a little farming.
When we arrived home from the village we than headed out for dinner and back to the Hotel for a rest.
Our second day in Cambodia was spent around the temples, we went to some temples that we didn’t visit last year and of course back to the stunning Angkor Wat- I just can’t get over that people actually built this by hand… so amazing!!
We spent our 3rd and 4th day with friends in Cambodia, today we are relaxing and changing hotel’s and tomorrow we are heading over to Battambang- which is about 6 hours by boat or 3 by bus… we are yet to decide if we will travel there by boat or bus!!

- This little boy was fishing… the Cambodia’s diet is full of fish and rice
- Children in Cambodia, much like children everywhere find anything to play with!!
- We got off our boat and walked into the middle of the village of Kompong Phhluk, it looked a bit like a ghost town because it was the middle of the day and so hot… everyone was inside.
- This little girl come out to see what we were doing!! I love this image as it really captures the isolation of this village.
- On the way to the temple there are people who sell banana’s to fed the monkey’s – the monkey’s come right up and take the banana’s from your hand. This little guy took the banana from my hand than chased me away… yes I was worried he would bite me! LOL!!
- This isn’t the greatest photos as it’s a little out of focus but I loved it as it shows the monkey jumping up!!
- This monkey thought he was the king of the castle LOL!! He parked himself on top of the tuk tuk’s moto and would not get off.. he was very happy to eat his banana up there!!
- Many of the children sit around playing in the dirt all day!!
- The Angkor Wat- I can’t believe they made this by hand!!
Megan and Kyle
Last Saturday we photographed Megan and Kyle’s wedding. It was the last wedding we photographed before going on holidays. We headed out to Tamworth to enjoy their special day with them.
Megan got ready at the beautiful Plumes bed and breakfast. It is such a fantastic place to get ready. Megan had a little surprise for her gorgeous bridesmaids. Megan went shopping for her dress with her girls but decided to go back with her Mum later and chose a different dress! Her bridesmaids had no idea, it was great to be able to capture their reaction to the dress!! I must say Megan looked simply amazing and did all of her girls.
Megan and Kyle got married at the Pavilion in Tamworth. It was such a beautiful afternoon which made for such beautiful light to work with!!
Thanks for a great day guys… We hope you have a great time in Bali!!
Talk to you soon.

Cyra and Ben Engaged!!
Recently we met up with the gorgeous Cyra and Ben. We started their shoot at the old court house in Grafton and than headed to a few locations around Grafton. Earlier in that week Grafton had been flooding so it was a much welcomed site to see the gorgeous sun shining.
Cyra and Ben are getting married in September… we are really looking forward to sharing their big day with them. Here are just a few images from the shoot!!
Damita, Nathan and Baby Jake
Recently we headed up to Brisbane to meet Damita and Nathan’s gorgeous little boy Jake. He is just so cute!! This is the third shoot that we have had the privilege of doing for this gorgeous couple.
At the time of the shoot Jake was just over two weeks old. He is so alert! It was great to be able to spend the time with Damita and Nathan and see how much they love being new parents. It is such a special time to be able to capture for new parents, as this is a time they will never have again.
Thanks for a great shoot guys… here are just a few images from the shoot.
